Australia needs to prepare now for post-coronavirus China opportunities, especially in biotechnology

Co-founder of the Australian Transformation and Turnaround Association and leading public affairs advisor Guy McKanna and I argue in a recent article that Australia needs to prepare now if it is to benefit from the opportunities that could emerge from a stronger Chinese economy after the Covid-19 crisis subsides.

The article was published by the Lowy Institute's The Interpreter on 19 March 2020.

In the piece we particularly looked at the opportunities in biotechnology as China seeks to rebuild trust both domestically and internationally following the coronavirus pandemic. We argue that if Australia is to take advantage of the new opportunities it needs to put in place policy settings to encourage research collaboration with China and to attract Chinese investment into our tech companies.
